GRIEF IS A DOOR

GRIEF IS A DOOR

On grieving, letting go, and making space for life.

a five-week series

Not a lot of people want to talk about grief. I’ve learned to see it as one of my greatest friends and teachers.

Grief is a door. An opportunity to meet all of life, to meet everything that's happened and everything that will not happen.

Everybody wants to talk about what they want, but not a lot of people are giving space to what's in the way of what we want.

Grief isn't in the way. It’s our resistance to feel the natural rhythms of life that include grief, that trigger sadness, anger, resentment, and confusion. That’s what stays in the way.

We need to grieve the systems and the parts of us that have been limited to the stories, beliefs, the misconception of identifying with who we are not.

As a society our number one conditioning is that we have been believing we are limited to our thoughts, beliefs, moods, experiences, and forgetting who we actually are.

Grieving is a way to acknowledge that and to put them down.

And with the state of the world, we need to make space to sit together, to grieve, to cry, to process, to feel.

Because meeting grief daily, meeting grief regularly, is meeting life regularly.

It's the natural rhythm of life.

This series is an opportunity for us to sit together for six weeks and meet the grief that is here now, meet the grief that has been here, and create a relationship with grief as a natural part of life.

As a partner, as a teacher, as a lover, as a doorway for you to create, to be free, to just feel more like yourself.

What we'll explore together

Each session has enough structure and space for the fullness of being alive.

How we will practice

We will read, write, cry. We will process. We will sit together and make space for everything that's here.

Through Buddhist reflections, parts work, somatic practices, and journaling, we'll explore grief in its many expressions.

And cultivate practices you can take with you, so that meeting grief becomes a natural part of meeting life.

We'll meet for five consecutive weeks, including through the holidays. Grief is a natural part of life, independent of the season or what we're celebrating. This is an opportunity to continue making space for ourselves, for everything we're feeling, and for one another. All sessions will be recorded, so if you can't join us live, you can catch the replay and continue the practice.

A Personal Note

December 25th will mark four years since my mother died.

There is still an immense amount of grief for the life we will never live, the experiences we will never have together. I have learned to see grief as one of my greatest friends and greatest teachers.Grief is an opportunity to meet all of life, to meet everything that's happened, to meet everything that hasn't happened.

Meeting grief daily, meeting grief regularly, is meeting life regularly. And this is an opportunity for us to sit together, to grieve, to cry, to process, to feel.

  • "I’m so grateful to be a part of The Dakini House, especially since it offers several opportunities to meet a month. The depth of love I find inside, the parts of myself I get to meet and hold, the witnessing of the community, is profound. Moun’s way of teaching, guiding, sharing, mirroring, her wisdom and big heart is such a gift. A sacred space where our humanness and divinity get to meet. All parts of us are welcome."

Meet your guide

Hi, my name is Mountaha, and I go by Moun (pronounced moon).

Brazilian-born Buddhist practitioner, practical mystic, lifelong devotee of love, real practice, deep retreats, old-wound healing, and making art out of all of it.

Everything started in the fall of 2014 with a one-way ticket to India.

I've been teaching since 2016, sharing this work with women around the world through retreats, courses, meditation, and private mentorship. My path has taken me through years of Tibetan Buddhist study, extended retreats in India and Nepal, and a continuous devotion to practicing what I teach.

From these years of study, practice, and service, I developed The Modern Dakini Method, weaving together Buddhist wisdom, parts work, the body, and creative expression. It's mystical and practical, playful, irreverent, and built for community.

And most of all, I'm a deep student of living fully. Of embracing the longing, loving, and grief.

Through practice, community, and creative expression, I've built a life beyond my thinking, through death, heartbreak, and everything in between.

And I want that for you. A real practice. A real community. The chance to come all the way home to yourself.
